It is a research institution specializing in the field of high-tech biopharmaceuticals. The research institute mainly conducts research on related projects such as "genetic engineering drugs, new vaccine products, biological diagnostic reagents, biosynthesis technology, biogenic technology, biological fermentation technology, screening of advantageous strains, biosafety evaluation, and clinical trial evaluation".

The research institute currently has 8 scientific and technological innovation platforms, 26 invention patents, and 27 high-precision and cutting-edge professional and technical talents, including 1 expert in the "National Key Talent Project", 2 experts in the "Hundred Talents Plan of the Chinese Academy of Sciences", 2 international technical experts, and 22 doctoral and master's students.
